This is a truly wondrous place to stay, such a lovely vibe, plenty of creature comforts. The pool and grounds are excellent - so much space for wandering, exploration and play. There's a perfect little spot beneath the trees, beside the river, to put down a yoga mat and commune with nature. The house itself is glorious, lots of ambience and distinctive features. It is both spacious and cosy. It's a luxuriously relaxing place for a family or group holiday.

It's idyllic! An absolute haven of peace and tranquility. It would be a great place for a family or a group of families or friends to stay - there are places in the house and grounds where you can enjoy each other's company, but also plenty of space where you can enjoy time alone. The pool is fabulous and I spent many happy hours sitting under the trees reading and chilling. Great for walking and cycling (if you are quite fit for the latter, to get up the first hill!!). You'll need a car to go shopping but there are good supermarkets within a short drive. I also liked the town of Melle (very close) with its quirky cafes. There was a jazz festival while I was there, which was great fun. All in all, a great time.

What a wonderful place to visit - the beautiful manor house lovingly updated and decorated combining the old and the new. The house is just exquisite with bubbling river to the side, huge garden and a gîte where the owner stays - close by to provide assistance and a warm welcome. We visited the small town of Melle for the weekly market and treated ourselves to the wonderful local cheese and wine of course! Before heading off to bed on our first night, the ladies had a swim in the heated pool - a wonderful experience in the rain! From our bedroom we had a view of the pool and gorgeous garden, we could even hear the river! My son loved putting on a pair of waders to help clean a bit of the river! I was impressed by the extensive collection of art books in the library and all the interesting pieces throughout the house. We will definitely go back for a rest and a bit of peace, or maybe a big party with friends - a cycle, volleyball in the pool, a long lunch at a huge t...
